Who needs an actual tv when you can stream all the quality tv shows you want? It's nice to have an evening off.

...committees.

Occasionally frustrating, but discussion and democracy is incredibly important. I am thankful to live in a society where my voice can be heard.

...my car.

I forgot my house keys this morning. Thankfully, I just got my car keys back so I could have a nap while I waited for my housemate to finish work :)

...a chance to sit down.

I am thankful for a fun weekend in Melbourne, but goodness, tourist-ing is exhausting!

...musicals!

...planes to take me home.

...safety.

...a walk after work.

...buses.

I may complain when they're late, but actually I am thankful to have buses. Cheaper than parking in town all day, perfect for when my car's at the mechanics.

...blogs.

There are so many beautiful and helpful blogs on the Internet. Kind of an overload really, but once you find a couple of good ones (on whatever topic you're interested in), it's so great! Ideas, hints, inspiration...

...being in one piece.

This weekend I drove a couple of hours to my friend's hen's weekend and back. One of my tyres blew on the way up and I lost control of my car and swerved all over the road for a couple of seconds. It was quite scary. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any damage to my car and I came through uninjured.

So this weekend I am grateful for a very 'basic' thing that I so often take for granted - I am thankful to be alive!!

...my bed.

There's no photo because I'm already in my bed and sort of half asleep. After an exhausting day I am so thankful to have a warm, comfy bed to collapse into!

...my little garden.

 I have never had a green thumb, but the thought of being able to eat things straight from my garden is a good incentive to remember to water my little plants. I am thankful to have the space and the opportunity to try.

...peppermint tea.

 

So delicious, and apparently quite good for soothing tummies too! I am thankful for healthy things that also taste good.

...church family.

Like any family they're an eclectic bunch, but I am so thankful to be a part of a loving church family.

...little treats.

Occasionally I decide not to think about the food-miles involved and treat myself to a very not-locally-grown mango. Such deliciousness. I am thankful that we have such a variety of delicious food so easily available.

...waking up with the sun.

It is so, so much easier to get up at 6:30am when the sun is already peeking through your window! I got heaps done before church this morning because I actually WANTED* to be out of bed early. This is one of the main reasons that I am absolutely a summer person :)

* my parents would attest to the miraculous-ness of this fact.

...weddings.

I will always love weddings. Love. Promises. Friends and family. Pretty dresses. And pretty much the only time I ever actually want to see real life people kiss (why is that?).

...the rain.

When it started bucketing down and hailing today I was like 'Nooooo! My poor baby seedlings will be beaten to a pulp!' But give thanks in all circumstances, at least my car got a free clean :)

And I came home tonight to see that some of the baby tomatoes survived, so that's good. 

...my job.

It's true that sometimes I'd rather be elsewhere, but actually my job is pretty great, and I am most definitely thankful for it.

...a muffin.

 Only slightly eating my feelings during a frustrating morning. It was a delicious muffin, however, that made everything seem better :)

...sunlight after work.

It is so nice to get home from work when it's still light. To cook dinner and sit down in the natural light. I am absolutely a summer person.
